Scott Joplin 1968-1917 known for ragtime compositions. eg The Entertainer Youtube .....look for Maple Leaf Rag Thelonius Monk 1917-1982 especially known for improvisations which were sometimes quite dramatic Youtube .....look for Jazz portrait Thelonius Monk 1970 Oscar Peterson 1925-2008 known as the king of swing. Youtube .....look for C Jam Blues Dave Brubeck 1920-2012 known for using unusual time signatures, although he did not write Take Five which many people associate with him. Youtube .....look for Golden Brown ... with his band Fats Waller 1904-1943 known for his stride piano style and rich, full chords and humorous showmanship Youtube .....look for Aint Misbehaving
